How to Find Apps You Downloaded Before 🔍
Deleted an app and want it back? Previously downloaded apps are saved and easy to reinstall.
Why This Works
When you download an app, it's linked to your account:
- iPhone: Your Apple ID remembers every app
- Android: Your Google account keeps a record
Even if you delete an app, you can always get it back!
On iPhone
Method 1: App Store Purchase History
- Open the App Store
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Purchased
- You'll see all apps you've ever downloaded
- Tap the cloud icon ☁️ next to any app to reinstall
Method 2: Search in App Store
- Search for the app name
- If you've downloaded it before, you'll see a cloud icon instead of "GET"
- Tap the cloud to reinstall
On Android
Method 1: Play Store Library
- Open the Play Store
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Manage apps & devices
- Tap the Manage tab
- Tap Installed and change to Not installed
- You'll see apps you had before
- Tap Install next to any app to reinstall
Method 2: Search
- Search for the app in Play Store
- Tap Install to redownload
💡 Helpful Tips
- Paid apps are free to redownload - You already bought them!
- Your data might be saved - Some apps restore your settings automatically
- Updates included - You'll get the newest version
⚠️ If You Can't Find an App
The app might have been:
- 🚫 Removed from the store - The developer took it down
- 🔄 Renamed - Search for different keywords
- 📱 Not compatible - Your phone might be too old or too new
Can't Remember the App Name?
Think about:
- What did it look like? (Color of icon)
- What did it do? (Search "recipe app" or "puzzle game")
- When did you use it? (Scroll through your purchase history by date)
