How to Set Up Emergency Contacts 🚨
Setting up emergency contacts means help can reach your loved ones even if your phone is locked.
Why This Matters
- 🏥 Paramedics can see who to call
- 👨⚕️ Hospital staff can notify your family
- 📱 First responders can get critical info
On iPhone
Step 1: Open the Health App
- Find the Health app (white icon with red heart)
- Tap your profile picture (top right)
- Tap Medical ID
Step 2: Add Emergency Contacts
- Tap Edit
- Scroll to Emergency Contacts
- Tap + Add Emergency Contact
- Choose someone from your contacts
- Select their relationship (spouse, child, etc.)
- Tap Done
Step 3: Make It Accessible
Make sure "Show When Locked" is turned ON so it works even when your phone is locked.
On Android
Using Google Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Tap Safety & Emergency (or search for it)
- Tap Emergency Contacts
- Tap Add Contact
- Choose from your contacts
On Samsung:
- Open Settings
- Tap Safety and Emergency
- Tap Emergency Contacts
- Add your contacts

On your Medical ID (iPhone) or Emergency Info (Android), you can add:
- 💊 Medications you take
- 🩸 Blood type
- ⚠️ Allergies
- 🏥 Doctor's name
