FaceTime is Apple's video calling app. It's:

- Built into every iPhone
- Easy to use

What You Need 📝
- iPhone with FaceTime app (green video camera icon)
- WiFi or cellular data
- Contact's phone number or email
Making Your First FaceTime Call 📱
Method 1: From FaceTime App
- Open FaceTime app (green video camera)
- Tap the + (plus sign) at the top
- Type the person's name, phone number, or email
- Tap their name when it appears
- Tap FaceTime button (video camera icon)
Method 2: From Contacts
- Open Contacts app
- Find the person
- Tap their name
- Tap FaceTime (video camera icon)
Method 3: From Messages
- Open a conversation in Messages
- Tap person's name at the top
- Tap FaceTime icon
During the Call 🎥
👀 What you'll see:
- Big screen: The other person
- Small screen (corner): You
- Controls at the bottom
Controls:
- 🎤 Mute - Turn your microphone off/on
- 🔄 Flip - Switch between front and back camera
- ❌ End - Hang up the call
Tips for Better Calls 💡
Lighting:
- Face a window or light
- Avoid backlighting (light behind you)
Camera:
- Hold phone at eye level
- Or prop it up on something
- Make sure camera isn't covered
Connection:
- Use WiFi when possible
- Better quality than cellular data
FaceTime Audio (Voice Only) 🎙️
Don't need video?
- Follow same steps to start call
- But tap Audio instead of FaceTime
- Works like a phone call, but free!
Troubleshooting 🔧
Can't find FaceTime?
- Swipe down on home screen
- Type "FaceTime" in search
- Should appear
Call won't connect?
- Check WiFi connection
- Make sure recipient has iPhone/iPad/Mac
- Verify they have FaceTime turned on
Poor quality?
- Move closer to WiFi router
- Switch to WiFi instead of cellular
- Close other apps using data

- Only FaceTime people you know
- Don't share personal information
- You can decline calls
