Lost your WiFi password? Here are several ways to find it!
Method 1: Check Your Router 📦
The easiest way!
Step 1
Find your WiFi router (the box with blinking lights)
Step 2
Look for a sticker on the:
- Bottom of router
- Back of router
- Side of router
Step 3
Find the password label:
- Might say "Password", "WiFi Key", "Passphrase", or "Security Key"
- Usually 8-16 characters
- Mix of letters, numbers, sometimes symbols
Step 4
Write it down or take a photo!
Method 2: Check a Device Already Connected 📱

On iPhone/iPad:
Requirements: iOS 16 or later
Step 1
Settings → "Wi-Fi"
Step 2
Tap (i) next to your connected network
Step 3
Tap the password field
Step 4
Use Face ID or Touch ID
Step 5
Password appears! You can copy it.

On Android:
Requirements: Android 10 or later
Step 1
Settings → "Network & Internet" → "Wi-Fi"
Step 2
Tap your connected network
Step 3
Tap "Share"
Step 4
Use fingerprint or PIN
Step 5
QR code appears with password shown below it
Method 3: Check Your Internet Provider Documents 📄
When you first got internet, your provider sent:
- Welcome packet
- Setup instructions
- Usually includes default WiFi name and password
Check:
- Paperwork from ISP (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, etc.)
- Original router box
- Installation guide
