How to Change Your Email Password 🔑

Changing your password regularly helps keep your email safe from hackers.


When Should You Change It?

Change your password if:

  • 🚨 You got an alert about suspicious activity
  • 🕐 It's been more than 6 months
  • 👥 You shared it with someone
  • 🔓 You used the same password elsewhere

For Gmail

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com on your computer
  2. Click Security on the left side
  3. Under "Signing in to Google," click Password
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Type your new password twice
  6. Click Change Password

For Yahoo Mail

  1. Go to login.yahoo.com
  2. Click Account Security
  3. Click Change password
  4. Enter your new password twice
  5. Click Continue

For Outlook/Hotmail

  1. Go to account.microsoft.com
  2. Click Security at the top
  3. Click Change password
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Enter your new password twice
  6. Click Save

💡 Tips for a Strong Password

  • Make it long - At least 12 characters
  • Mix it up - Use letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Avoid personal info - No birthdays or pet names
  • Write it down - Keep it in a safe place at home

You'll need to sign in again on:

  • Your phone's email app
  • Your tablet
  • Any computer you use
