How to Stop Spam Emails 🛑

What is Spam? 📧
Spam emails are:
- Unwanted advertising
- Emails you didn't sign up for
- Messages from unknown senders
- Often trying to sell something
Mark as Spam (iPhone Mail) 📱
- Open the spam email
- Tap the flag icon at the bottom
- Tap Move to Junk
Or swipe method:
- Swipe left on the email
- Tap More
- Tap Move to Junk
Mark as Spam (Android Gmail) 📱
- Open the spam email
- Tap the three dots (top-right)
- Tap Report spam
Or quick method:
- Long-press the email
- Tap the spam icon (!) at the top
Unsubscribe from Emails ✋
If it's a legitimate company:
- Open the email
- Scroll to the very bottom
- Look for Unsubscribe link (usually tiny)
- Tap it
- Confirm you want to unsubscribe
Block Sender 🚫
iPhone:
- Open email from sender
- Tap sender's name/email at top
- Tap their email address
- Tap Block this Contact
Android Gmail:
- Open the email
- Tap three dots (top-right)
- Tap Block [sender name]
Prevention Tips 🛡️
Reduce future spam:
- ❌ Don't share your email publicly
- ❌ Don't reply to spam (confirms your email works)
- ✅ Use a separate email for shopping/signups
- ✅ Check boxes when signing up for things
- ✅ Read before clicking "Submit"
Create a Filter (Gmail) 🔧
To automatically delete spam from specific senders:
- Open Gmail on computer
- Click Settings (gear icon)
- Click Filters and Blocked Addresses
- Click Create a new filter
- Enter email address to block
- Click Create filter
- Check Delete it
- Click Create filter
What NOT to Do ⚠️
Never:
- Click links in suspicious emails
- Reply to spam
- Give personal information
- Download attachments from unknown senders
